Taal Volcano is a volcanic island situated within Taal Lake, located in Batangas Province. It is accessed through Talisay, Batangas, just at the foot of Tagaytay City.
How to Get There:
From Metro Manila: You can ride a bus bound for Tagaytay or any buses via Talisay, Batangas. From Talisay, Batangas, you can hire pumpboat that crosses to the volcano island. You can choose from different resorts that offer pumpboat services along Talisay’s lake shore.
Above: Villa Amparo Resort. They offer 1,500 Php boat service back and forth with free Cottage and shower usage.
Cruisin’ in the Lake could be a good start.. Enough to get some fresh air.
Horseback Riding to the Top of the volcano
Going up walking would be very difficult that is why the tourism dept offer horseback riding going up for 500php (30 minutes) vice versa. This was my first time to ride on the back of a horse.
Enjoyed a lot watching the breathtaking view from the top of the volcano.
Adding Taal Volcano to your bucket list would be highly recommended if you are planning to visit Tagaytay. A budget of 5000 for two would be big enough for a Tagaytay-Taal Volcano Trip.
Enjoy Taal Volcano!

Tagaytay City is a mountain city located south of Metro Manila. It is easily accessed through the South Luzon express way, Coastal road, or CavitEx, and then through Aguinaldo Highway. It is 1-1/2 hour drive from the Metro. Due to its proximity to the big city, it attracts local and foreign tourist to escape the humid weather in the metro. Tagaytay has cooler weather at anytime of the day because of its elevation, just like of Baguio’s, but Tagaytay is more accessible.
How To Get There: By Land you can ride a Bus or Van to Tagaytay from Pasay City, or near the Baclaran LRT station. From Batangas, you can also easily access Tagaytay through Talisay-Tagaytay road.
