Taal Volcano: A volcano island within a lake

Taal Volcano is a volcanic island situated within Taal Lake, located in Batangas Province.  It is accessed through Talisay, Batangas, just at the foot of Tagaytay City.

How to Get There:

From Metro Manila:  You can ride a bus bound for Tagaytay or any buses via Talisay, Batangas.  From Talisay, Batangas, you can hire pumpboat that crosses to the volcano island.  You can choose from different resorts that offer pumpboat services along Talisay’s lake shore.

Above:  Villa Amparo Resort.  They offer 1,500 Php boat service back and forth with free Cottage and shower usage.

Lake Cruisin’

Cruisin’ in the Lake could be a good start.. Enough to get some fresh air.

Horseback Riding to the Top of the volcano

Going up walking would be very difficult that is why the tourism dept offer horseback riding going up for 500php (30 minutes) vice versa.  This was my first time to ride on the back of a horse.

Sight Seeing

Enjoyed a lot watching the breathtaking view from the top of the volcano.

Adding Taal Volcano to your bucket list would be highly recommended if you are planning to visit Tagaytay.  A budget of 5000 for two would be big enough for a Tagaytay-Taal Volcano Trip.

Enjoy Taal Volcano!

  1. Nice blog! The volcano looks fantastic!

  2. I am doing a carrying capacity study for Taal volcano. it will be great if you can fill up the questionnaire below. It will also help if you can pass on the link to people you know who have also been there. Many thanks. Let me know if the link doesn’t work.
